Expose to Compose

A good foreground adds interest to your shot, but if it’s poorly exposed it may detract from the image or even ruin it.

The bottom line is: what do you want the viewer to look at?

If it’s a beautiful old jetty on a lake, then I believe you need to have some great detail showing and with a poorly exposed image you will lose all the detail.

Watching the histogram on the back screen of your camera is a great way to make sure that you are not losing any important details in your shadows and highlights.

Do you mind if I quote a couple of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back
to your site? My blog site is in the very same area of interest
as yours and my visitors would certainly benefit
from a lot of the information you present
here. Please let me know if this ok with you. Appreciate it!
